The police should do their job just right (and not extort protection money), then Phuket also safe. nice to know soi bangla is safe for tourists.now when was the last tsunami drill that could save thousands of tourists? it's less than 2 weeks away since that terrible day in 2004 and for the authorities it's a distant memory.

Even the authorities question Phuket's preparedness to deal with another tsunami evacuation, it was revealed at the honorary consuls' meeting last month. Warnings are still a worry, especially between 10pm and 6am.
