PHUKET: Tourism officials in Phuket City are delighted with the progress being made on two new attractions in or close to Old Phuket Town. The new viewing platform at Rang Hill, with a spectacular outlook over Phuket City, is 60 percent complete, municipal authorities say, while work is proceeding on schedule at the downtown Standard Chartered Bank, Phuket's first bank, which is being converted into a museum celebrating Phuket's Baba traditions. Chinese settlers often took local brides.

Pwin you must get out more. The restaurants are wonderful up there, beautiful views and very good prices. Yes I have seen lots of tourists go there. Have come to the restaurant (for me there is only one) at Rang Hill frequently the last 20 years...wonderful place to bring friends, nice and quiet and a very good view...add hereto delicious food at very reasonable price and then you have a winner. Posted by Sailor on May 2, 2014 11:14 
Graham, I assume from your comment the monkeys have been returned, their were removed for quite some time. As for tourist going there, sadly on every occasion, except one (a young couple from Sweden) I've been there the only tourists I've seen were those visiting me. One thing that I think Phuket should market itself more on is the cuisine special to Phuket...it is the best place in Thailand to get a traditional kanom jeen with curry of your choice for breakfast...very delicious and a healthy start of the day....beside from this plate Phuket has many other plates special to Phuket...go and explore and the best place to do that is in Phuket old town.
