Sail 'n shop was an idea that did not float the boat of Damrungtam Krabi complaints office chief Theera Chucherd or the people in charge of Krabi's national parks.
A complaint to the Damrungtam office on December 12 accused the ''7-Eleven'' longtail boats of charging excessively high prices.
When officials investigated, they found that the prices were reasonable but that it was illegal for the fishermen to be operating on the shores of Railay Bay, in a marine park zone.
Krabi's beaches have been cleared of umbrellas and sunbeds this month, too.
There is speculation that as the longtails off Patong are not operating in a national park, the idea could provide Phuket with answers to its problems of keeping tourists and beach vendors happy while still obeying the law.
Meanwhile, the ''7-Eleven'' fishermen in Krabi will go back to fishing.
It is absolutely nothing good to have long-tail boats on the beach.
Railay beach is complete disaster as it is densily covered with long-tail boats and oil leaks 9-5 everyday.
I wonder why people shoukd stay Rayavadee if their only swimming is always occupied in such manner, so they have to watch from concrete elevation by the pool. Moreover most expensive villas of Rayavadee are facing that disaster.
Phuket beaches do not long tail boats parked in addition to other problems.Let's look at Freedom beach that is close by disaster scale to Railay beach, it's almost as full with long-tail boats as Railay.
