Jetstar's New Link Connects Bangkok and Hanoi

PHUKET: Jetstar Pacific is celebrating the launch of its first direct service between Hanoi and Bangkok after flight BL668 landed at Suvarnabhumi International Airport today.

This follows the recent launch of daily flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Bangkok, and will further support the growing demand for low fares from and visiting relatives and business travellers between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as deliver a boost for local tourism.

Le Hong Ha - CEO of Jetstar Pacific - said the airline was excited to launch direct flights for the growing number of customers choosing to travel between Hanoi and Bangkok.

''There is a huge demand for low fares in both markets. We saw a fantastic response to the low fares when bookings first opened, and we're expecting this demand to continue to grow,'' he said.

''We're also pleased to be able to provide Thai travellers with the choice of a new Vietnamese destination''.

"This launch is part of our strategy to expand our services between Vietnam and Thailand, to boost demand by providing low fares each day, and an extensive network together with the Jetstar Group in the Asia-Pacific region," Mr Ha added.

Jetstar Pacific's Hanoi to Bangkok flights will operate daily on a 180-seat Airbus A320 aircraft. Flight BL667 will depart Hanoi from Noi Bai International Airport at 11:10.

From Bangkok, flight BL668 will depart at Suvarnabhumi International Airport at 14:35. Total flight time is around 1 hour and 50 minutes.

Currently each week the Jetstar Group operates 28 round trip flights between Singapore and Ho Chi Minh City, 35 flights between Singapore - Bangkok, 7 flights between Hanoi - Bangkok create routes connecting three countries Vietnam, Thailand and Singapore as well as Jetstar Group network in the Asia - Pacific region.

Jetstar Group has served more than 140 million passengers since it launched in 2004.

In Vietnam, Jetstar Pacific operating 16 domestic flights to 13 cities - attractive tourist destination in Vietnam. The two main shareholders are Vietnam Airlines and Qantas Group (Australia).
