A fifth man is thought to have fled to Malaysia.

The men were spotted behaving unusually at a Thai Military Bank ATM opposite the Sleep With me resort in Patong's Rat-U-Tit 200 Pi Road. Onlookers thought they was they repetitively queued behind each other was a clue that they were up to no good.

Officers from Kathu Police Station, which oversees Patong, were alerted and raided the men's room at the Aloha Resort not far away.

Wow, Patong police must have many undercover police officers.
However, it always puzzles me why undercover police officers always show themselves on Photos showing the culprits.

At least these Chinese are keeping TAT happy. . . . " The number of Chinese visitors are up and up."
Maybe the TAT should also record the numbers of departing Chinese, to see if the number of jailed Chinese visitors is also up and up?

You hear about so many scam cases like this with foreigners in Thailand. So what usually happens next? Do they stand trial here or are they just simply deported back to country of origin and then never heard of until they slip back in with a false passport? You never hear of any follow up with these cases it seems.

With those names and style of dress I would say they are mainland chinese not Hong Kong citizens.

Well done for catching them

What a bunch of muppets to get caught like that !

The T-shirt which the person on the left wears could well originated from a shop located on Peking Rd., however I am not quite sure if a receipt has been issued on a change of the title.

@Sue, anyone with only half a brain can tell the difference between mainland Chinese and Hong Kongers.

is there anything that prevents mainlanders to buy or to steal 3000 HKD T-shirt from a designers' shop in Kowloon, in particular regardless whether they are surrounded by creatures carrying 0.5 of brain, or 1.0 or 1.5 sets of the standard metric brain?

Pleast note that Sue is a mainlander!

Further to inform you that most of chinese tourists nowadays are wearing fake brand clothes. These are purchased at price of 10-50 RMB and they don't even need to go to HK / Kowloon.

@Sam and @Sue

As reported in other media, they are indeed from mainland china, so I was quite correct.

I guess there is little to stop people stealing clothes (if that's what they want to do!) - so your point is irrelevant.

Having previously lived in HK for more than 8 years I can tell the difference between mainland and HK chinese from a mile away, I dont even need to hear them speak. I also speak fluent mandarin and cantonese by the way....

There is a totally different look between HK and mainland.... if you guys cant see it, then more fool you, no matter where you come from!

Same here.. been there.. done that!
In this case the id-cards are clearly confirming that they are mainlanders as the picture shows.

I am not fluent in mandarin nor cantonese but been living in Canton and HK for over 10 years.

If you go to Lok Ma Cha, Lo Wo or Shang-shui, you'll find Hong Kongers look exatcly like these mainlanders (Guangdongers). Most of Guangdongers who are travelling abroad, pretent to be Hong Kongers by the way.

You should learn - it makes learning Thai easy as there are far fewer tones in Thai Language. 10 years in HK on the "dark side".... you should be fluent by now too!
