PHUKET: The Royal Thai Navy has written to a Phuket municipal council, telling officials to clear four illegal restaurants from the holiday island's shorefront before the end of the month.
The order to Cherng Talay council comes with the expiration of time for the restaurants to appeal.
The four restaurants sit on Lay Pang beach, not far from the Banyan Tree Phuket resort.
A fifth restaurant is believed to have applied to the courts to uphold its legitimacy.
Most of Phuket's illegal shorefront restaurants have been demolished since the military took charge in Thailand on May 22 last year.
