Danish Man Found Dead in Room at Phuket Resort

Sunday, March 1, 2015
PHUKET: The body of a 53-year-old Danish man was found in his room at a small Patong resort about 11am today.

A maid knocked at the door and when there was no answer she used a master key to enter. She found the man with his feet on the floor and his body on a bed.

Paramedics estimated he had been dead for about eight hours.

Police said there appeared to be no signs of any kind of disturbance. The man had been undergoing a detoxification program at a Phuket hospital, an officer said.

The man's body was taken to Patong Hospital.

OK, some will argue this fact, but why do we see so many foreigners dying on a small island, never mind the Thai, Burmese, Cambodian etc. deaths not reported. Is there something that "attracts" the suicidal, unhealthy, adventurist etc types. As a comparison, Bali has far fewer deaths. I know some journalists are Phuket "protectionist" but by not reporting the truth is getting people killed, as it appears Phuket is more dangerous, to some, than it should be.

Bali has had far more expat/tourist murders and mysterious bodies lately than Phuket, Laurie. You should broaden your reading. Please try to get your facts straight. As we've said quite often, deaths that would not be reported in most other places are reported by the Phuket media because there is no coronial system. It's a social safeguard that, in the minds of paranoid readers, provokes conspiracy theories. The reason people don't die more often on sofas in front of the TV on Phuket, Laurie, is because very few people sit on sofas in front of the TV. You may be the exception.

Ed, you must be one of those Phuket "protectionists" to even consider that there have been more expat/tourist deaths, and "mysterious bodies, on Bali than Phuket lately, it flies in the face on any facts coming out of Bali from Australia's Embassy, and I don't mean only those deaths of Australians.

Please pass on the ''facts'' from Bali, Laurie. Otherwise you claims are thin and built on fiction, as usual.Perhaps you missed the ''body in the luggage'' case? That was all-American. Believe me, Bali is well ahead on suspicious expat deaths and home invasions lately.
As one site puts it in summary: Balinese murder, drive by shootings, kidnappings and pedophile rings!

Ed, once again you use ONE (1) instance to justify your stance, I might add the case you mentioned happened in AUGUST, last year, hardly, as you commented, "lately". Now, about my facts, as you so often say to commenters, you pay my salary, then you can ask me to do YOUR work, until then I suggest you do it yourself.

Hot-air Laurie, at it again. Add value please, or don't waste our time.

People die - heat, medicine alcohol/drugs is a dangerous mixture for elderly men in a bad physical shape. It happens, I have seen this before.

The number 3 killer in America is the Pharmaceutical Industry.

If he was on a Detox then something must be investigated there. It is suspicious when you start a Detox then die.

I agree with Ed about more people don't watch TV on a Sofa as most westerners do. Which is why it may sound strange to some.

The Danish man appeared to be in fine shape and at 53 could not be considered elderly.

Ed, he couldn't have been in too good a shape if he was attending a detox program at Phuket hospital. I've got no idea why the poor guy died I'm just suggesting that usually there is no conspiracy, just a simple case of too much of something or the body giving up.
