Rescue vessels managed to save the other 14 crew on the cargo vessel, a fishing trawler modified to carry goods.
''The boat went down in bad weather about 3.10pm,'' said a spokeperson for the Chao Fa Rescue Centre, based in Ao Nang, Krabi. ''Our vessel and a Marine Police boat went to save the crew.''

The cargo company, Torsak Boat, was picking up what goods could be found in the water later today but there was no sign of the missing crewman.
