Customers fimd hope with a deadline set for Ace Condo

Consumer Protection Chief Gives Ace Condo Owners Ultimatum to Settle Over Patong Project

Monday, June 15, 2015
PHUKET: The owners of Phuket's troubled Ace Condo development have a week to satisfy customers who want their money back or face charges, the secretary of the Consumer Protection Board, Ampon Wongsiri, said today.

Khun Wongsiri chaired a meeting at Phuket Provincial Hall with the Damrungtam complains office, Phuket Governor Nisit Jansomwong, disgruntled customers and a representative of the owners of Ace Condos.

The governor and Khun Ampon are to meet with the Ace Condo owners to reinforce the message that unhappy owners of the S1 part of the Patong project must be reimbursed immediately.

The owners have two weeks to deal with complaints about the S2 part of the development.

Many owners have paid deposits and regular payments after buying into the project off-the-plan.

Ace Condo was scheduled to be complete by September 2014 but construction has yet to start.

Khun Ambon made it plain that the owners would need to settle with unhappy customers - some are content to continue with the project - in side two weeks or face serious legal consequences.

You only have to look at all the final ultimatums and warning given to Surin Beach business owners, Tiger disco management, Patong Bungy Jump management and all the others we hear about to know that these words mean nothing.

I would imagine in two weeks that nothing will have changed - but I hope I am wrong

One of my friends is waiting for a refund so I will check in with him in 2 weeks to find out

Hopefully PhuketWan will have a follow up story on June 29th

I do not see a farang on the picture. A lot of 51 percent owners I think. The Consumer Protection Board can only help the 51 percent and I guess there will be some conflicts between shareholders in this matter. Maybe after 10 years the dispute has come to an end.
