The Superintendent of Kamala Police Station, Colonel Patthanajak Jakkapan, confirmed to Phuketwan today that the body of the man, aged about 30, had been found.
Residents came across the man, slumped by the road, in Kamala Soi 8, about 50 metres from the 7-Eleven store on the corner with the main coast road. His body was found about 4am on Sunday.
People thought he may have fainted and were shocked to find he was dead.
Colonel Patthanajak said there were no marks on the man's body, which was taken to Patong Hospital.
The colonel said he believed the body would be taken to Bangkok for a full autopsy.
