A MASSIVE expansion will see Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport grow across an extra 1140 rai to develop a conference centre, an entertainment complex, hotels and a hospital.
Private investment is being sought between now and mid-2010 to proceed with the grand plans, Airports of Thailand director Sereerat Prasutanan announced today.
The land, to the north-east of the present terminals, will involve 20-years rentals.
Next year will also see the purchase of 600 homes belonging to families who have been complaining about air traffic noise and pollution since Suvarnabhumi opened in 2006.
Khun Sereerat said each of the special projects would involve expenditure of 10 billion baht.
