Private Villas Boost for Phuket

Monday, December 17, 2007
MANAGER Joop Saetiw knows what the prime factor will be in selling Anchan Villas.

''Phuket is one of the most beautiful places in the world to live,'' he says.

That being the case, what better option for a property company than to offer up a private slice of Phuket, at a competitive price?

Khun Joop has done his research and his sums. ???Compared with price ranges in the area, Anchan Villas definitely offer a larger space,?? he says.

Anchan Villas expect to have the first villa ready at the end of May, near the Laguna Phuket resort that now has its name applied to an increasingly broad stretch of the nearby countryside.

Within two years, all nine villas should be ready. Anchan will then be able to concentrate on a second project in the same area.

Khun Joop, 31, says Anchan Villas are on offer as both leasehold and freehold, with rental programs and a furniture package available if required.

The architecture style is ''contemporary Balinese with a modern interior.'' Spread across 4.3 rai, the plots vary in size from 543 square metres to 667 square metres, with prices ranging from 13.9 million baht to 14.9 million baht.

The villas vary from two bedrooms to three bedrooms, with interior space going up from 298.75 square metres to 321.15 square metres.

There's no reason why you would want to leave your own estate very often: each villa has a private pool and all the fittings are high standard.

But if you did happen to leave, there is no shortage of facilities nearby, including golf, quality spas, restaurants, fitness centres, shopping, watersports of all sorts, even horse riding.

Around Anchan are the Laguna Village, the Bann Thai Surin Gardens, the Two Villas, The Park by the Richmond Group, and Luna.

While Khun Joop certainly thinks Anchan is competitive, he sees the benefit in these high-end developments being grouped together.

''The good thing, apart from competition, is the quality we see from having all these projects nearby,'' he says. ???We are creating a great community without damaging the peaceful nature of the area. Privacy has been our main consideration.''

He sees the benefits for those who want a holiday home and others who want to invest. His background in restaurant management has enabled him to see the way Phuket ebbs and flows each season.

''The number of tourists increases each year and it's more likely to gain than reduce,'' he says.

''I think the same progression is likely with the property business. We will always have more potential buyers coming.''
