Hundreds of families who live on the land in the King Kaew Moo 3 section of Phuket Coty's Rassada district are fighting a claim that a man owns the 300 rai on which their homes sit.
The chanote title claim allegedly goes back 50 years to a person who is long dead but as-yet unnamed relatives have decided to activate the claim.
The protesters went to the Land Titles office in Phuket City to continue voicing their objections to the title being legitimised.
These people need a lawyer that knows his stuff. Even in Thailand there is legislation which governs "prescription", where land rights even those fortified by a chanot title expire after a certain amount of time (10 years in case of a chanot) if it is not defended at regular intervals against illegal occupiers. To try to "activate" a claim after 50 years is just ridiculous

They'd probably be happy with a lawyer who knows her stuff, too.
