The house on Phuket's Ao Yon beach that now has to tear down an extension

Phuket Beachfront Extensions to be Torn Down Within 30 Days

Saturday, February 21, 2015
PHUKET: A platform extending onto the sand and a ''tree house'' were so obviously illegal at a Phuket beach that a Vice Governor yesterday ordered them torn down within 30 days.

Vice Governor Somkiet Sangkaosutthirak made the ruling after joining other officials in inspecting the exterior of the house on Ao Yon, a relatively undeveloped part of Phuket's coast between Chalong and Cape Panwa.

The owner of the house is believed to be based in Singapore, a woman who said she rented the dwelling told officials yesterday.

A check on the legality of the wall at the beachfront of the premises is also likely.

I am curious , are tree houses within Zone 1 first half are allowed and do they fall under construction restrictions? Theoretically, it can be rented out - e.g.on Koh Jam in Krabi province there is a number of treetop guest rooms.

Ao Yon is a rats nest. Building violations, illegal migrant workers. The whole place is a den of abuse.

@ Amazing Thailand. How are you doing with your million thb bet? Just 4 more days to go for the beach front extension to be gone. Are they already working on it, or is instead now indeed a jet ski parking realized? :)
