PHUKET: The hopes of Phuket FC are sky-high after last night's victory and a host of signs that the corner towards form, talent and training has been turned.
The 1-0 victory over Ratchanavi Rayong FC was not emphatic. But it was enough.
On top of the 0-0 draw away against Krabi, Phuket FC's hopes of achieving promotion reasonably quickly from Division One have been rekindled.
Former national team member and new Phuket FC coach Rong ''Noi'' Ajanyoot is stringing together some vibrant performances with the new players and the old players still in the process of improving.
Added to that, last night's win came with three regular Phuket players out because of ankle injuries. Talking today to Phuketwan Khun Noi said: ''Our boys played well and reaped the reward. We are growing stronger and stronger.
''For now, our only ambition is to continue the good form against Chantaburi away on Sunday. They are below us on the ladder, so we believe we can win on out current form.''
Chairman and major sponsor Pamuke Achariyachai was even more certain that good times lie ahead for Phuket FC: ''I was pleased with the win but the previous match against Krabi, when Phuket played for a long period with just 10 men, was really gutsy.
''I wouldn't like to say it too loudly, but the future looks very bright now.''
