PHUKET: FC Phuket's hoodoo in never having won an away game in Division One lasted just two minutes tonight.
Bam! Hoodoo gone. FC Phuket wins, 1-0.
Latecomers may have regretted their tardiness if they missed the money shot.
A quick goal by Bubaka Issoufou was all it took to end the Phuket Hulk's unhappy run of 10 Division One away matches without an away victory - plus a couple of others.
What followed was a muscular confrontation of epic proportions against Rattana Bundit University, who clearly didn't plan on letting Phuket end its hoodoo on their home turf so rapidly.
Ripped shirts told the story. Phuket, apparently, won the game and the fight.
French goalkeeper Jonathan Matijas held off the opposition's shots and ensured that FC Phuket came out on top.
One Phuket player, thumped by the opposition, went to hospital for a checkup after a physical collision.
Coach Sompong Wattana now has the big Toyota Cup match at home in Phuket City on Wednesday to look forward to.
He says that playing both Division One and Toyota Cup at this time of the season leads to tired players - FC Phuket had to make the bus trip from Pattalung to Bangkok between Wednesday and Sunday.
Now they will have to head home by bus to Surakul Stadium in Phuket City for Wednesday night's big match.
Going into the game, they have a 0-1 deficit to overcome. But the Phuket Hulks will be fresh off a victory.
As a final-eight semi-final, a comprehensive victory on Wednesday will put them into the final four with an outside chance of a trophy.
Expect a crowd at home in Phuket City.

Rawai Supporters Club was at Pattalung last week and we are very confident that FC Phuket will reach the last 4 with a good victory over a very limited Pattalung who we should not have lost to, really. This is a big big game for us so it would be nice to have a very loud and bias crowd. Rawai Supporters will be in our usual spot on the back row behind the Phuket band underneath our new mega banners, come and join us for a great atmosphere and fun with friendly bunch. WE LOVE FC PHUKET,
PS. IF KONE (#39) PLAYS HE WILL HAVE A FIELD DAY AND I WILL HAVE HIM DOWN FOR 2/3 GOALS
