PHUKET: Each year the Chalong Temple Fair produces surprises, and this year there's a mermaid. If you happen to have grown up with a sideshow alley as part of the annual agricultural or state fair, then Chalong Temple is the place to go to enjoy some of the great delights of childhood. Clowns and fun are part of the mix, along with plenty of quirky rides and odd things to eat or buy. With circuses no longer so easy to find, this is the place that kids want to run away to today. It's at Chalong temple each night until February 5.
