FC PHUKET scored its first real home win tonight with a 3-1 victory over JW Rangsit FC. And nobody would be more relieved than coach Surachai Jirasirichote.
It's understood the Hulks' cheer squad would have been baying for Khun Surachai's blood if the Phuket team did not beat tonight's lowly placed opposition in Division One.
The dissatisfaction with Khun Surachai, a former national player in his first season overseeing a team, may become a theme for the season.
For the time being, it was all smiles among the fans when Niran Phantong struck the first goal at the seven minute mark. With Nenebi Sylvestre striking a second after 20 minutes, FC Phuket led 2-0 at halftime.
The Sarat Au-Yen goal at 80 minutes left the result in no doubt. Thunder and rain helped to spice the match with a bit of torment from nature.
A crowd of about 2000 turned out at the Surakul Stadium home ground in Phuket City to witness the historic first real win in Division One.
The Hulks return to their home ground again on March 27 for another must win, this time confronting the bottom side, RBAC Mittraphap. The cheer squad - and coach Surachai - will be hoping for another good win.
