PHUKET: Phuket FC lifted itself out of the Division One relegation zone with an away victory over Songkhla FC last night.
Three points from the away win in Had Yai gave the Islanders faith in new coach Rong ''Noi'' Ajanyoot whose first outing on Saturday against the same team on Phuket produced a 0-0 draw.
Midfielder Marcio Santos headed Phuket's goal in the second half in front of a very small crowd of 400.
Next up, Phuket face PTT Rayong at home in Phuket City on Saturday. Phuket will be looking to reverse a 6-0 drubbing last time the teams met.
Phuket sits in tenth spot while Rayong occupy sixth place. The rejuvinated Phuket team is expected to attract a good crowd to Surakul Stadium in the hope that the revival continues.
