ELEPHANTS romping on the lawn! It must have been a bit of a shock today for people driving past the Blue Elephant restaurant in Phuket City.
None of them were blue, though, but maybe it won't be long before they come in a variety of colors.
This afternoon, passersby will perhaps catch a glimpse of elephant polo as a private sponsored event takes place on the green expanse that adorns what was once one of Phuket's finest mansions.
The eight Phuket elephants will play four-a-side, each with a mahout attendant and a player wielding a long mallet.
Elephants are high on the list of attractions for Phuket and Thailand, with 189 now officially listed as residents of Phuket.
