A spectator showed a sense of humor at Royal Thai Armed Forces Day

Permission to Laugh Granted on Royal Thai Armed Forces Day

Saturday, January 18, 2014
PHUKET: Royal Thai Armed Forces Day was celebrated today at the Navy's base in Tablamu, north of Phuket, where men and women in uniform went through their paces and a group of monks gave their blessing. A woman spectator wearing a cap marked OBEY with a rubber duckie on her shirt showed the Navy's other side, the human side. A military that does not take itself too seriously all the time is something to celebrate. Thailand's national media freedom day comes in March.

National media freedom day. Is that the same as North Korea' anti propaganda day or China's free speech day?

Editor Comment:

Sadly, when the military sues the media in a democracy, Thailand is becoming just like North Korea and China
