What the manager says: We do Thai and local food with a consistent good taste. What's more, it's not expensive and there is plenty of fresh food to choose from. The surroundings are pleasant and the breezes blow through. It's a quiet road so there is not very much noise. The chef has been with us a long time. If a person wants a particular taste, we are happy to oblige. --Teerasak Tresangsuvan
What Phuketwan says: Phad Thai is the standard Thai dish around the world. It's a big call we know, but Maeporn Phad Thai is the best we've tasted anywhere. They probably didn't invent it but they certainly have made it great. The serving is just the right quantity, texture and taste. It's that little bit spicy and a great way to start eating your way through the menu here. Khun Anong is the cheerful face of the place and she and the tireless staff work hard at keeping customers happy. If she hasn't had time to bring you a glass of water before your meal is finished, then she is dealing with a packed restaurant. Maeporn moved to this airy site five years ago from central Phuket City, where it was a standout attraction for several years near the On On Hotel. The customers have followed.
How to find it: Take the road up past the Bangkok Phuket Hospital, follow the twists and turn and eventually you will see it on your right. Or go up over Rang Hill and it will eventually emerge on the left on the other side.
Parking:Along the road outside. Plenty of space usually.
