A CAVALCADE of classic cars is coming to Phuket on Saturday.
About 200 vehicles are expected to wend their way south, then tour the island so residents and visitors can watch them pass.
Many of the vehicles, including quite a few ancient Jeeps, will rendezvous at the Phuket Gateway on Friday and wait for others to arrive before going on their island drive.
The cars, some from Bangkok but mostly from the south, are touring and will be heading south on Saturday to a concert at Saphan Hin public park in Phuket City on Saturday night.
It's a private rally by the cars' owners but the public are welcome to look at the cars either as they pass or at Saphan Hin on Saturday evening.
The Jeep Club, one of the prime movers of the rally, began in 2001 with just 10 members.
Now there are 20 . . . with a broad connection base to other people who have an interest in other classic cars.
