Police said there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances. It was the second Swedish suicide reported to police in the region over the Christmas period.
Another man, also a Swede, was reported to have been found hanged yesterday in a guesthouse in Krabi Town.
On Phuket, Felipe Gustavo Basualto Trincado, 25, used the electric cord from a laptop to hang himself at a guesthouse in Bang Tao, where his body was found about 2.40pm on Boxing Day.
The man was born in Santiago, Chile.
In Krabi Town, a maid found the body of Benjamin Benna, 29, hanged in a toilet in a room on the third floor at the Narin Guesthouse.
Mr Benna, who arrived at the guesthouse on Christmas Eve and never left the room, wrote a note saying that he was upset because his Thai girlfriend had left him.
