A tango for two on Phuket produces a no score draw tonight

Rumor of FC Phuket Victory Turns Out to Be Untrue

Saturday, April 21, 2012
PHUKET: A rumor swept Phuket today - FC Phuket, the island's ever-troubled football team, was about to win a game.

Just like a seismologist's graph, the Phuket team had had a few ups and downs lately. There was a win. There was a loss. There were three draws.

One or two cracks had even appeared in the positive attitude shown to the rest of the world by the coach and the enthusiastic young Phuket team.

Rumors of another victory are not to be laughed at, even on a holiday island where tsunami warnings and earthquakes make it difficult to chuckle sometimes.

Plenty of fans turned out tonight for the match at Surakul Stadium against Suphanburi in the hope that the rumor might be true.

Phuket, in 10th place on the Division One table, had their big chance to displace Suphanburi, in ninth place.

Well, that was the rumor. It turned out, sadly, to be untrue.

The two teams battled hard on some very soggy Phuket turf, and at the end of the night, it was a no-score draw.

The good news: Perhaps the ground at Surakul Stadium might have opened up and swallowed the losers. As there were no losers (or winners), everyone evacuated the stadium and went home safely.

Win, lose or draw, Phuket and its football team will be back again next week to prove it will take more than the Suphanburi ''Elephants'' or an earthquake to quench FC Phuket's eternal hope.

Hello all, it was good to see everybody had their shirts on today but wearing shirts and stopping drinking beer is 2 very different challenges, so the ice cold cans of Leo stayed...
The game was nothing to write about..but here i am lol.
Its going to be a long old season so the cans of beer are going to be needed by the faithful.0-0 and not a great deal of chances for either team with maybe FC Phuket getting the best chance in the last few minutes however that was to be squandered and our soon to have reputation as draw specialists continued. No real negatives from today apart from maybe someone bouncing an empty bottle of water off the ref's head in the tunnel at the end of the game, positives to come from today included a clean sheet, fans on the other side in the open air part of our majestic area and 1 less game to be had in the afternoon instead of night time when the flood lights are fixed.
Hopefully there aren't too many moan arses about today and 1 point is seen as 1 point gained from this very experimental side.

I was there. What a lacklustre performance by Phuket. I am horrified, you are paid professional players? Huh! I have seen better under 18 football at schools. A beginning fan that has now left the room. No way was that an attempt at good games. Supan at least got the ball into the net twice. although the goals were not allowed. Huh someone pays professional rates for these players? I can get you under 21's for a fraction of the cost, that play better football than what I saw of phuket fc. Wow the rain was exciting?
