PHUKET: Police are looking for a black car than killed a Phuket woman and sped off last night. The woman died instantly as she crossed Phuket's main road to prepare for her husband's cremation today.
Seldom has a Phuket hit-run left a more poignant trail of destruction. Killed on the spot about 9.45pm last night in Thepkasattri Road was Wanid T. N. Oun, 49, a Thalang resident.
She was carrying a large sum of money as she crossed from Sirsoonthorn temple, north of the Heroines Monument in central Phuket, to a shop on the other side of the road.
Her husband's body was at the temple in readiness for a cremation today.
Witnesses said a black saloon car travelling north at speed hit and killed Khun Wanid and did not stop.
Police have no other clues to the perpetrator of the deadly hit-run.
