PHUKET: Two more motorcycles were destroyed in yet another ''hot bike'' blaze on Phuket yesterday.
The fire, near the Ayara Kamala Resort and Spa, brought to 22 the number of motorcycles burned in the past two months.
It was the second motorcycle blaze yesterday, bringing to 10 the number destroyed for the day.
Police and officials are so far at a loss to determine whether one person is responsible for most of the blazes or its a copycat series of events.
One man, apprehended after four motorcycles burned in Karon, told police he had been smoking a cigarette while trying to borrow some fuel from a friend's motorcycle to make sure he could ride all the way home.

This is just mindless cruelty.
I've never heard of anyone who has 1st class insurance on a small bike and most of those who use them are regular Thais in the lower income bracket.
A bike is not only a huge financial loss but may also mean losing their job because they are no longer able to commute.
I hope the culprit/s are caught and the books thrown at them.
