PHUKET: An entranced warrior was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City today after losing too much blood in a Phuket Vegetarian Festival street parade.

The man, from Sapham Temple, had bound strings of green bean shoots passing through both cheeks.

However, as the parade passed through Phuket City, it became obvious to onlookers that the man was losing too much blood.

He hopped into a Kusoldharm Foundation pickup and was carted to hospital.

Today's second day of parades made it plain that most entranced warriors have again ignored the plea by Phuket Governor Tri Augkaradacha and Phuket Public Health officials for restraint in piercings.

Among today's participants were a man with a ceiling fan through one cheek, another with a rifle sticking out, and several others who made onlookers wince.

Parades continue through until the final night when Phuket City will be the fireworks capital of the world as the spirits of the Vegetarian Festival are driven back into the sea until next year.

And that blood that he will get in the hospital would have been a life saver for someone else who had a real accident!
