HERE comes the bride . . . and here comes the groom. The difference with this wedding is that she is almost four years old, and the groom happens to be precisely the same age.
In fact, they are twins. It's a traditional Thai approach to the belief that when there are twins who are boy and girl, it means they were a married couple in a past life.
In the case of bride Salisa ''Ploy'' and groom Satawan ''Pet'' Petnang, it's believed they must have beee a very close and happy couple because when one twin falls sick, the other quickly follows.
Parents Apriak and Wachiraporn Petnang say they have been extremely lucky with the lotteries, thanks to the twins. Their wedding ceremony took place today at Phuket City's Thainan Restaurant, opposite the Central Festival shopping mall, at precisely 9.09am, for good luck.
About 100 guests attended, and most gave the newlyweds 999 baht. Gold and rings were also among the gifts.
The family is from Phuket and lives and works in Patong.
