Unfortunately, Thailand and France have some shared points such as unwanted foreigners and refugees from over the world.

@Whistleblower

About France (same for UK), you forgot that those "foreigners" is a payoff for colonial policies in the past... - so they are very same part of these countries, as any native Englishman or Frenchman.

In regard of foreigners in Thailand, as long as they spend every month more than average statistical Thai person, they are welcome from economic point of view.

@ whistleblower:
your comments are usually more sensible.

These so called "French" north Africans are nothing but a plight on Phuket's growing problems. Take a look at Nanai Rd soi 8 and you will see the state of affairs especially around high season. The terrorize the local population and scream around on their Yamaha TMaxs like they own the place. Thailand should invest in "facial recognition" software at airports rather than the millions spent on bomb (golf ball) detectors. Then maybe they could keep out all the riff raff.

@W.B: Just remember where you come from, doesn't your country have unwanted foreigners and refugees from all over the world? Why pick on your adopted country and France when many other countries have the same problem? To avoid criticism keep quiet.
@ Resident: Don't you mean an own goal?

@Sue
I agree with you.

Some of the other comments above only bring a foul smell. Good and bad are among everybody, also us 'normal' expats , foreigners and 'riff raff' in Thailand...
