All aboard for a road show across Australia's eastern states

Phuket Resort Puts Show On The Road . . . in Australia

Tuesday, October 2, 2012
PHUKET: Plenty of Phuket resorts undertake road shows. But Twinpalms Phuket is doing it differently, and with style.

The boutique Phuket resort, which has a reputation for clever innovations, is putting its own show on roads around Australia in a Twinpalms luxury motorhome.

The Twinpalms road show tour starts in Brisbane then heads through Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide to the Australian capital, Canberra, taking in big country towns along the way.

Boldly emblazoned 'Twinpalms Phuket On Tour Australia 2012,' the vehicle is likely to attract plenty of attention wherever it goes.

Like rock stars between gigs or the entourage from the Australian drag queen road movie, 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,' the motorhome journey is bound to be fun.

Online, the Twinpalms site reports that the 10-metre luxury motorhome ''will organise and welcome travel agents, press and former guests of Twinpalms daily to a coffee break with some light snacks served at a local coffee shop.''

To make sure it's also successful, there's a competition for people to win a free stay at Twinpalms Phuket by taking a photo of the bus.

The Twinpalms team arrives in Brisbane to board the motorhome on November 6 and finishes in Canberra on December 5.

Twinpalms promotes itself as ''Phuket's Most Exciting and Stylish Contemporary Resort'' but it has always been noted for its attention to quality service and lack of pretentiousness.

The resort, back a little from Phuket's Surin beach, already has a strong Australian patronage, so in some ways this is a journey into the heartland of regular fans.

Among the innovations of the resort have been the establishment of the first Sunday brunch on Phuket, the creation of the first beach club, Catch Beach Club, and the branding of a couple of motoryachts for cruising.

Towns and cities where the bus will be stopping include Brisbane (November 7-8) Broadbeach (November 9) Coffs Harbour (November 10) Port Macquarie (November 11) Newcastle (November 12) Sydney (November 13-14) Wollongong (November 16) Batemans Bay (November 17) Merimbula ((November 18) Lakes Entrance ((November 19) Melbourne (November 20-21) Geelong (November 23) Warrnambool (November 24) Mount Gambier (November 25) Bordertown (November 26) Adelaide (November 27-28) Bordertown (November 29) Horsham ((November 30) Ballarat (December 1) Shepparton (December 2) Wagga Wagga (December 3) and Canberra (December 4-5.)

The tour takes in the wealthiest and greenest south-eastern corner of the Australian mainland in early summertime.

If there's any problem with expenses, it's likely there would be no problem selling tickets.

What they should put on the road is the Simon Cabaret its really has come of age, professional and so entertaining, i have taken friends to see the show recently and told people to go and every one came back so happy and that they would go again. I feel that the show has come of age and would be a smash hit and to be honest they would be flat out entertaining people.

Oh, my goodness. This makes at least the 4th ingratiation story on Twin Palms in less than two months. What percent of your crafty old (and lonely) editor do they own? Where are your basic journalistic ethics?

Editor Comment:

If you were to keep making news regularly, Jack Martin, we'd report on all your innovations, too. As this is your first comment, we suspect your fresh ideas are probably even more limited than your understanding of journalistic ethics.
