Mr Inovndrey, 31, has vanished on his honeymoon.
Police, who learned about his disappearance on Friday, made brief inquiries on Saturday and now hold serious concerns for his safety.
Mr Inovndrey was last seen while walking and taking photographs at Ao Sane beach, near Nai Harn in southern Phuket, on Thursday.
A search of the sea around Nai Harn, Ao Sane and other nearby beaches was made by Marine Police, with the assistance of Chalong police, this afternoon.
Mr Inovndrey had been on honeymoon on Phuket with bride Anna Krivonogi, 28, for about a week, police have been told.
His disappearance was reported by his wife to police on Friday, sources told
Phuketwan this evening.
However, a spokesman for the Russian consulate said tonight that they were only informed about the matter by Chalong police today.
Mr Inovndrey disappeared while out walking with his wife and another couple.
He was last seen taking photographs around Ao Sane beach, where the large rocks can be slippery in the wrong conditions.
