Is it true that 15 y.o. is the legal age someone can obtain a motorcycle license in Thailand? I was told this was the case when I recently visited Korat. Or does it vary from region to region?

15, 16, 17yo can drive motorbike up to 110cc regardless of province. Must be 18 to drive a car.
We get a lot of accidents here because there is no public transport system. Everyone must drive a motorbike.

Unlucky, many of the youngsters don't have a license, at all. Also a lot of scooters are 115 or 125 or 135cc. So 18 will be the legal age, with a license.
But as long no one checks on this, ....!

Yeah, because in other provinces, places with quite a lot of choices when it comes to public transportation, there are almost no accidents with motorbikes. And almost no teenagers driving motorbikes to be seen..Yup, it's a unique Phuket phenomenon...NOT!
