AN ENGLISHMAN who changed his mind about making love to a ladyboy katoey was severely beaten about the head with a high-heel shoe as a consequence of his infidelity, police in the Phuket fun-town of Patong said today.
The Englishman left the ladyboy waiting in Patong's main strip, Soi Bangla, for three hours, on a promise of love-making. But when he eventually returned he had a Thai woman in tow, said Colonel Nikorn Chootong of Kathu Police Station, which oversees Patong.
The ladyboy, angry and insulted when the Englishman said he was standing her up in favor of a ''real'' woman, told police that she had been waiting three hours for the Englishman to return as promised.
She said that because she had promised herself to the Englishman, she had rejected overtures from other men during her three-hour wait.
Her loyalty was not repaid. When the Englishman returned with a Thai woman, he said he'd had a change of heart about ladyboy companionship for the night.
The ladyboy felt doubly insulted because she had had a full gender reassignment.
So she delivered a Thai boxing kick to the side of the Englishman's head and proceeded to clobber him with the sharp end of her high heel, Colonel Nikorn said.
Police sat the pair down at Kathu Police Station and let them negotiate a cash settlement. The ladyboy was also fined 500 baht for her violent reaction during Tuesday night's incident.
The Englishman may not have been able to say he was well-heeled before the incident, but he certainly can now.
