PHUKET: A traffic policeman was knocked down and injured by a motorcycle in Phuket City yesterday.
Senior Sergeant Somsak Chuenbangba was struck by a rider who overtook a pink bus at the wrong time and crashed into the policeman on point duty.
The senior sergeant was controlling traffic at a t-junction on Yaowarat Road in Phuket City, not far from Phuket Police Headquarters and Phuket City Police Station, about 5.30pm.
The rider, Jakkrapong Kuankalong, 25, may face charges.
Senior Sergeant Somsak was admitted to Vachira Phuket Hospital with head injuries and what appeared to be a broken arm.
