PHUKET: When a Phuket farmer went to investigate his barking dogs last night, he found a 20-kilo python strangling a chicken.
Somkiat Thitirat, 60, was taken aback at the size of the three-metre python, among the largest he's seen. And this one was in the storeroom near his house in the central Phuket district of Thepkasattri.
With the dogs still barking, Khun Somkiat called in the Kusoldharm Foundation Phuket. The volunteers were also impressed with the size of the snake.
By the time they bagged the giant, 30 minutes had passed. It was too late to save the chicken.
The Kusoldharm volunteers aimed to take the snake for release in a wilder part of Phuket.
