The toilet block, suspended in midair amid the treetops, is part of the new Rang Hill Breeze restaurant that is due to open in mid-November. The Breeze, offering Thai and European food, is expected to compete with the existing Rang Hill restaurants - Thung-Ka, Phuket View, and Phuket Garden.
Russian tourists enjoyed the vista from the new restaurant, where a modern design has set the main platform down the hillside, recessed out of sight of most arriving tourists. A kiosk and a souvenir shop are part of the structure.
Eight busloads of Russian tourits visited Rang Hill while Phuketwan was there yesterday, disgorging more than 300 visitors to enjoy the views over Phuket City.
