Buyers with an eye for Phuket quality have a new option, Laguna Park

Phuket Property Boost Sees New Laguna Park Offer 2000 Condos, Villas, Townhouses

Friday, September 6, 2013
PHUKET: Laguna Property announced today that a new Phuket project, Laguna Park, could eventually include as many as 2000 homes.

The development, one of the largest ever on Phuket, is a welcome sign of the positive potential for property on the island.

It's also an indication that the demographics of Phuket are changing as more people choose to live north of Patong, on the west coast, and Phuket City, to the east.

With that number of homes being contemplated, businesspeople elsewhere on Phuket will already be calculating whether they should be opening a retail outlet or a fancy restaurant nearby.

Whatever reassurance people may need right now to come as repeat tourists, Laguna Property appears to have no qualms about the potential appeal of Phuket to people looking for a home or an investment.

If location, location, location is the first concern, then Laguna Park boasts turf adjacent to Laguna Phuket, the well-known Phuket landmark, styled these days as an ''integrated resort destination.''

Closer inspections shows that this means a large sanctuary amid lagoons and dotted with resorts, residences, a golf course, a shopping village, spas, restaurants and bars.

Introducing the new project today, Stuart Reading, Deputy MD of Laguna Resorts and Hotels, stressed the brand's history of delivering quality products.

''Having operated in the location for more than 25 years,'' a media release reported, ''Laguna Property is able to offer homeowners comprehensive after-sales and property management services, so owners can rest assured their needs will be well taken care of.''

The first phase consists of 301 condominium units, 117 townhomes and 122 villas on real estate totalling 53 rai.

A new property centre has been built within the Laguna Phuket sanctuary, on a t-junction, to contain sample showroom bedroom and living room spaces. The townhouses begin from 6.7 million baht while the villas start at 12.4 million.

''Facilities include a beach club area, with a clubhouse to be built as part of phase two of the development,'' says the media release.

''Construction is expected to commence in early 2014.''

What today's announcement did not say is whether existing homes in and around the Laguna precinct are likely to be easier or harder to sell with the advent of yet more quality competition.
