A telephone call led to staff discovering the body of a man now named as Adam Arthur Sahyoun, 31, with insulin and a syringe in his room, and the tv and aircon still running.
PHUKET: A young Australian tourist who weighs about 200 kilos was found dead today on the floor of his rooms at the Happy Cottages in southern Phuket.
The man, aged 31, was discovered on the floor in the living room about 4.45pm. He was dressed in a pair of shorts.
Kusoldharm Foundation workers found about $3000 Australian in cash among his possessions.
The man had arrived on Phuket on July 5 and was due to leave on August 5, staff at the Happy Cottages said.
Paramedics estimated he had been dead for about eight hours. There appeared to be no signs of violence, according to officers at Chalong Police Station.
His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City. Australian Embassy officials have been notified.
