Well-Known Phuket GM Dies after Heart Surgery: Ashes to be Scattered off Phuket

Monday, May 16, 2011
LOUIS Bronner, longtime general manager of Phuket's iconic Boathouse on the beachfront at Kata, has died of complications after heart surgery in Bangkok.

His ashes are to be scattered in Phang Nga Bay

Mr Bronner, 71, who died at 8am today, was a private man who earned the respect of peers for his knowledge of what made a boutique resort work long before boutique resorts became fashionable.

Friends and admirers included fellow Greater Phuket resort managers Wolfgang Meusburger and Claude Sauter.

Arrangements are as follows:

May 17 1pm: Mr Bronner's body will be moved to Thadthong temple in Bangkok, Sala 16. No ceremony this day.

May 18 6pm: Buddhist ceremony. 8pm: Cremation.

Mr Bronner's ashes will be taken back to Phuket. A ceremony will be held to disperse the ashes at a time and place to be decided.
