PHUKET: The future must have seemed bleak and wet for Suksan Aunjalren, who was trapped down a well in Patong this afternoon.
Khun Suksan, 55, had gone down the well in Nanai Road to make some repairs and instead, his hand became wedged in the side.
A crane was brought to the site and rescue workers went down the well, with the crowd above growing.
Among the er, well-wishers was the Mayor of Patong, Pian Keesin, difficult to recognise in a stylish hat.
Eventually, workers down the well managed to prise Khun Suksan free and he returned to the surface where an ambulance was waiting to transport him and his injured hand to hospital.
