what happened to earlier reports here where Phuket was 90% booked out flights are all full so where are the people going ?

Nothing happened to the earlier reports: that article was published in 2007, talking about the 2007-2008 high season! Phuket will have a record year in 2010 for people coming through the turnstiles at the airport. But the Europeans who usually come for high season in considerable numbers are not coming in the same quantities this year. As we've reported, more package tourists are coming from China and Russia, and a growing number from Indonesia. But the flow of tourists is complex and seasonal. So this ''European tourist'' season has a hole in it, even though numbers for 2010 are going to set a new record.
