PHUKET: New Royal Thai Navy Commander in Chief Admiral Na Areenich told officers on Phuket yesterday of the important role they played in tourism safety on sea and land. He was greeted at the Royal Thai Navy 3 base at Cape Panwa by Andaman commander Vice Admiral Saiyan Prasongsomret.

I am sure that the Admiral will be advising all of his Officers to ensure that all tourist vessels & ferries will be fitted SOLAS Approved Lifejackets instead of the Oilfield Bouyancy Workvests that they are mostly currently fitted with for full compliment of crew & passengers.
