Of the 430 deaths of Australians in Thailand between 2006 and 2011, 112 were from unknown causes, the ninemsn.com.au site reported.
The total of 430 deaths compared with 300 for Vietnam, 284 for Greece, 255 in the US, and 252 in the Philippines.
Australians in Thailand appeared to have a higher proportion of deaths from unknown causes than the other leading countries.
The number of deaths last year tapered to 69 from a peak of 96 in 2010 and 98 in 2009. Deaths from unknown causes reached 25 in 2009, 34 in 2010 and 15 last year.

The number of Australians visiting Thailand rose by 9.63 percent to 427,096 in the first six months of 2012.
Nice statistic, with no absolute number off visitors to all named counties, to compare. Not that I would question the position of Thailand on that list, but wouldn't it almost be the same, if I would say: Australia belongs number one on the list, cause there is no other country overseas (out of the view of every other country), where more Australian die?
