Swiss Expat Nabbed as Phuket Cocaine Dealer

Friday, April 29, 2011
A SWISS man has been arrested in a Phuket police ''sting'' and confessed to making his living selling cocaine to other expat residents and tourists.

Mike Pierre Chille, 31, handed over cocaine to an undercover policeman outside a convenience store in Moo Four the southern Phuket district of Chalong about 6.30pm on Tuesday.

The undercover policeman handed over 10,000 baht in exchange for two grams of cocaine.

At Mr Chille's home in Parichat Villas, police found more cocaine. Officers said that Mr Chille told them he bought the cocaine from a black American in Nana Soi in Bangkok.

He has been living on Phuket for nine years, had married a Thai and spoke Thai, and had no other obvious source of income apart from drug-dealing, police said.

He was charged over a total of 3.3 grams of cocaine. Mr Chille is being held awaiting a court appearance.

Amazingly he was charged on drugs and not on working without work-permit ("making his living selling cocaine to other expat residents and tourists")... ;-)
