Swedes Nabbed for Sex on Khao Lak Beach

Thursday, August 27, 2009
TWO SWEDES are in jail in Phang Nga, north of Phuket, accused of having sex on a local beach with two Thai women and possession of hashish.

The tourists were caught about 11pm on Monday by officers who were making a regular check along Khao Lak beach, police said.

Police Lieutenant Sopon Choisathid told Phuketwan the men, Andreas Hall, 30, and Ruben Ludwigsson, 33, were being held in cells at Takuapa criminal court.

The Thai women, both from Phang Nga, were named as Pattama Ningwaree, 19, and Wanida Booryairaksa, 23. They are also being held at the court cells.

Police said they arrested the tourists and the women and took possession of 13 grams of hashish, a marijuana hookah, and a lighter.

Officers said they believed hashish was being sold to tourists in the Khao Lak region.

The four, charged with having sex in a public place and possession of an illegal drug, are awaiting a court appearance and may be able to apply for bail.
