It will probably be the face of Phuket for New Year 2012 this weekend, too.
Kusoldharm Foundation staff treated this man and his companion - Abrahim Alhasawn, 37, and Mohammed Dutibam, 27 - after the pair claimed they were set upon by five Frenchmen in Soi Easy, one of the lanes that run off Soi Bangla, Patong's best-known walking street. .
Earlier this year, police in Patong told Phuketwan they were being called out more and more often to settle disputes involving drunken Westerners, or Westerners in brawls with other Westerners.
Today Kusoldharm Foundation staff, who generally pick up the pieces after the drunks fall out or fall down, said they too were stretched at this time of year particularly to deal with injured Westerners.
They had the names of Mr Alhasaw and Mr Dutibam, but were unable to say where the pair were from. Generous in whatever state they were in on Christmas Night, Mr Alhasaw and Mr Dutibam blamed five Frenchmen for their cuts and bruises but opted not to go to the police to formally lodge a complaint.
The big question is, where will Mr Alhasaw, Mr Dutibam and the Frenchmen be celebrating New Year?
The more i read on the ongoing, goings-on in Patong and see the quality 'new age tourists' that are arriving [ so that TAT can continue their rave about increased tourists arrivals..ad nauseum] the happier i am that i upped and left the dump recently after 7 years there...Patong and all the GREED merchants .."reap as you sow", comes to mind...
