THE S-BENDS of Singapore's night grand prix course last weekend may have been the inspiration for this unexpected visit to the sand at Kalim, near Patong, on Phuket's popular west coast.
The driver, from the Philippines, was shaken but unhurt. He and three holiday companions were returning to Kamala after dropping off female friends in Patong about 4am yesterday.
The driver told officers that he ''lost control'' . . . and the vehicle ended up on the sand at Kalim.
The car was rented and insured. Patong police said no charge would be laid.
