PHUKET: Police in Samui say they are still awaiting documents to establish beyond doubt through a DNA match the identity of a skeleton found beneath a villa on Samui.
The Superintendent of the Bophut Police Station on Samui, Colonel Witdhaya Wangda, said today: ''We believe it's probably Hungarian Laszlo Csapai, but we can't be 100 percent sure.
''We are still awaiting confirmation of a DNA match. When that arrives, we will know what to do next.''
The skeleton was found beneath a villa belonging to Hungarian Moshe David. Mr David is in Phuket Prison accused of murdering another Hungarian, Peter Reisz, on Phuket in November.
Ms Csapai, a multi-millionaire, disappeared two years ago. Investigators found the skeleton beneath the villa earlier this year.
If the skeleton does turn out to be that of Mr Csapai, Mr David is likely to face a second murder charge.
But he is likely to face trial for the Phuket killing first, even if a second murder charge is laid.
Sources at Phuket Prison say Mr David is well-behaved and quiet.
