" Hotels in Phuket have been fully booked for the Chinese New Year from Febary 2-8, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket office, Bangornrat Shinaprayoon, told mcot.net."

A quick check on latestays.com, shows this statement to be woefully incorrect. More than 50% of the hotels listed have rooms available.
